Murmuration was a collaborative exhibition between eight artists from Ireland and eight artists from Finland. The work explores the rich folklore and mythology of both Ireland and Finland, reflecting a deep connection to cultural heritage.
I was paired with Pauliina Yliniitty and our collaborative pieces explore our artistic processes and Celtic-Nordic heritage. The work blends pencil drawing, eco-printing, watercolour, alcohol ink, and bespoke calligraphy to tell the story of the Forest Fairy—a figure rooted in both traditions.
Created using eco-friendly techniques, the pieces celebrate nature’s power and delicacy. The central image, a life-drawn dancer, evokes the fairy’s ethereal grace, while the lettering is inspired by plant forms. Through this layered artwork, we invite viewers to glimpse the enchanted world—if they choose to see it.
